Cousins’ Books was founded by Dr. Patricia Kardambikis and her son, Christopher. Originally Cousins’ Books was located inside of Bill’s Sandwich Shop on Wilmington Road, itself owned by Spiros Kardambikis. Cousins’ Books has since moved across the street, and expanded, inside Hyde Drug Store. The bookshop will always be a family business inside of a family business.
About the founders…
Dr. Patricia Kardambikis is an educator, administrator, health educator and a nurse. She recently retired as a public school administrator and is now teaching as a full time faculty member at Westminster University. Dr. Kardambikis balances her busy educational schedule by spending precious time with her family, including her eight grandchildren.
Christopher Kardambikis is a bibliophile, artist, and educator. He has been binding books by hand for nearly two decades. His parents have, surprisingly, been supportive of his odd ideas for even longer. He is an Associate Professor at George Mason University and the Director of the Studio Art program. He is very excited to be operating a bookshop in his hometown.
